About the series
James Dashner's The Maze Runner is a YA dystopian thriller about Thomas, a teenager who wakes in a metal box with no memory of his life before. He arrives in the Glade — a grassy clearing at the centre of an enormous, shifting maze patrolled at night by mechanical monsters called Grievers — where dozens of other boys try to survive and find a way out.
Recommended reading order
Read the original trilogy in publication order: The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure. The two prequels (The Kill Order and The Fever Code) explain the world's backstory and are best read afterwards — they spoil major reveals from the main trilogy and hit harder once you already know the characters.
