About the series
Veronica Roth's Divergent is set in a future Chicago where citizens are sorted at sixteen into five factions, each devoted to a virtue: Abnegation (selflessness), Erudite (knowledge), Amity (peace), Candor (honesty), and Dauntless (bravery). Beatrice "Tris" Prior tests as belonging to none of them — making her Divergent, and dangerous to the regime.
Recommended reading order
Read the main trilogy in publication order: Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant. Four: A Divergent Collection gathers four novellas told from Four's perspective and is best read after the trilogy — three of the four stories are prequels and the last bridges to Insurgent.
