About the series
Diana Gabaldon's Outlander mixes historical fiction, romance, and time travel. In 1945, English combat nurse Claire Randall touches a standing stone in the Scottish Highlands and is hurled back to 1743, where she meets a young Highlander named Jamie Fraser and is drawn into the run-up to the doomed Jacobite Rising.
