David Baldacci Books in Order
by David Baldacci
David Baldacci has built one of the richest thriller universes in American fiction — multiple series starring agents, investigators, and assassins, united by relentless pacing and Washington D.C. intrigue. His first novel was adapted into a Clint Eastwood film.
About the series
David Baldacci is one of America's most prolific thriller writers, with a talent for spinning multiple simultaneous series without losing momentum in any of them. A former trial and corporate lawyer from Virginia, Baldacci broke through with Absolute Power (1996) — immediately adapted into a Clint Eastwood film — and has since built a catalog of interconnected series starring Secret Service agents, CIA assassins, small-town sheriffs, and a detective with perfect memory.
Recommended reading order
Each Baldacci series is self-contained and can be started independently: the Camel Club (political intrigue), Sean King & Michelle Maxwell (Secret Service duo), Will Robie (CIA assassin), Amos Decker / Memory Man (hyperthymesia detective), John Puller (military investigator), Aloysius Archer (1940s–50s noir), and the 6:20 Man / Travis Devine (corporate thriller). The standalones — beginning with Absolute Power — require no prior reading. Series-internal order matters; start each at book one. Will Robie and Amos Decker crossover in Walk the Wire.
